Traveling has always been a huge part of my life, I’ve always know that I never wanted to stay in the UK once I had the opportunity to leave. My main aim was to move to America, but as I have matured, I realised I don’t want to settle down in one place, I constantly want to be on the move and exploring different countries and cities around the world.
Whether I am traveling by train, coach, plane or if I am traveling alone, with friends or family getting from A to B is always so relaxing. I prefer to travel alone of with a small group of friends because it’s so much easier to control. Longer journeys are always the best because it gives you more time to relax, take a nap, get nose deep into a book or have some you time with a pair of headphones in.
If you’re going to travel with friends then you need to make sure you get on with them well , or if not that you have the time away from them to get a break to yourself. For me there is a VERY small number of people who have never managed to annoy me, and by small I mean 1. Every human being on this earth has managed to irk me at least once in my life apart from one of my best friends, and how she does that I don’t know…
Something about stepping of a plane, or a train into a new environment or even a new country is always so exhilarating. I could have been away for over 24 hours but I will still get that buzz that pushes me to go explore than go to bed.
I see traveling as visiting somewhere you have never seen before, even if it is in the same country you’re currently in, you haven’t seen it and you travel too it. Therefor traveling. The UK is a fairly large country, and I haven’t seen everything I want to here, but I plan on doing so in the upcoming years.
When you travel to a new country, you have to be ready to work non stop to see everything you want to, which means minimal sleep and long days. But I feel this is the best way to do it, yeah you get home feeling like you need a holiday to get over it, but I know I would rather look back thinking wow I did everything I wanted to do rather than regretting that I missed certain sites because I didn’t want to get out of bed.
If you’re going to a country that has a very unique culture, then get involved, go to events, try the foods. It’s all about the experience.
Traveling isn’t for everyone on this planet, there are people in this world that would rather build a family, buy a house, get a dog (I do want a dog at some point). But it’s never going to hurt anyone trying and experience traveling at least once.
