I have always wanted to travel, ever since I was a little girl I was fascinated by new things, different places, exciting experiences. I would look up at my parents and think wow I would love to do that one day, think of a place, book it and go because that’s essentially what traveling was. Never did I think that before the age of 20 I would be leaving the country alone or with friends multiple times a year and traveling to different places around the UK.
That’s the thing for me, every sees traveling as you have to leave you country and go to these exotic places in order to say that you have travelled but not me. The UK is a large country (yes okay there are much larger countries) and to say I have travelled the world, but not been to the basic tourist spots within the UK is a little embarrassing. Traveling isn’t just about seeing the world, it’s about seeing new things, the definition of travel is:
“make a journey, typically of some length”
So, if I am to travel multiple hours to get to a city in the UK I have never seen before, then I am classing that as traveling.
Last year was the kick start of travelling for me, I visited multiple cities in the UK like Glasgow, London, Brighton and Birmingham. I also visited multiple countries like France, Greece and Germany, and I know that this is the start for it.
Currently, we are 16 days into 2017, and already I have visited Brighton and Birmingham, I have also booked to visit Sicily – Italy with two friends in March. There are so many places I would like to go an see, I know I won’t be able to go to them all this year, but that is the perk of starting young, I have my whole life ahead of me to get it done.
